About Jane West
My favourite phrase is ‘Everything is Connected’.
Jane West
WHY? Because it holds true in so many areas of my work.
I’m a Chartered Physiotherapist by original training (qualified 2007), with my early career in the NHS, Professional Sports and private practice. Over time I noticed that not every pain point that came through the door followed the textbook patterns. There was something more going on. Bodies were not just musculoskeletal systems. They were holding stories.
That observation took me into further training in Somatic Experiencing, Trauma therapy, Neurolinguistic programming and Coaching. The work I do today sits at the meeting point of physiology, neuroscience and lived experience. It’s grounded in how the nervous system actually functions.
Nearly two decades in, I’m convinced this is one of the most powerful approaches I’ve come across for creating real and lasting change.
- Any injury should always be considered in the context of the chain it sits within, the connections above and below.
- Our physical health is always in context of our emotional health, they influence each other.
- Our stress levels have a direct effect on how our body works.
- Things that have happened in our past will affect how we react in the present.
Nothing works in isolation.
Everything really is connected.

Testimonials
Alyson M.
‘Jane revolutionised my life. I went to Jane with a calf injury which I initially thought I sustained from running. However, the thing that really stands out is that Jane treats the whole person and focuses not only on treating the injury but the cause as well, always looking at the bigger picture. After sessions with Jane, I not only left with the injury treated but a bigger understanding of my body and how to prevent things. Jane made everything make sense, often linking other symptoms together that otherwise would have been missed. Jane has a huge wealth of knowledge regarding a range of treatments including many ‘alternative’ strategies. Jane was always approachable, put you at ease and interested in you as a person. Nothing was too much trouble. It made physiotherapy sessions something to look forward to.’
“When I started my coaching sessions with Jane I was, like many women around 50, spinning a lot of plates, fearing that they were going to smash. The sheer number of spinning plates crept up on me as a demanding but beloved career, children, partner and parents (and health) all presented greater challenges. I came into the programme with a certain amount of trepidation about whether all the plates would smash if I started to look too hard at myself, and whether I could really make changes at my age.
I need not have worried. Jane combines warmth, knowledge and caring scrutiny to create coaching sessions in which she listens and asks kind but perceptive questions. Her deep understanding of how our bodies carry what we think and feel means that she not just listened to what I said, but also observed how I said it, to understand my words and also what lay behind them. Her questions helped me to gently unpick my thoughts and emotions.
I cannot thank Jane enough for her coaching. I feel like I have come out of the sessions with new and better habits forming. Tasks feel less overwhelming and I feel more at peace. I speak more kindly to myself. The plates do not feel like they are going to smash.”

“I’m extremely thankful for the help Jane has given me, and I truly believe I wouldn’t be where I am right now physically and mentally without her help. As someone who took a very non-holistic view of my physical and mental health, I can no longer deny the fact that there is a strong correlation between the two, given the clear impact and results following my sessions and experiences with Jane.”
Jonathan Joseph
Professional Rugby Player (Bath, England & British and Irish Lions)
“I worked with Jane for over 2 years during which time she helped me immensely with various injuries and maintenance treatments. Not only is she a talented and professional physiotherapist, it was obvious that she really cared about us as individuals and how we could achieve our potential. This made a real difference to me and I know Jane’s unique approach will bring her a lot of success in her future business.”

Back Pain Client Testimonial
“I have been to see many physiotherapists over the past ten years after suffering from constant back pain… Then I met Jane. Jane was interested in finding out about me as an individual, about my life as a whole and how that impacted the pain I was experiencing. She remembered everything I told her and focussed on my whole body rather than just the immediate area the pain was in… I can honestly say that 8 months on since my treatment finished that I am experiencing far less pain and now know how to overcome it when I do experience it. The ultimate test of this was at Glastonbury this year when I did not experience any back pain until late on Sunday, whereas since the year 2000 it has been hurting from Wednesday night onwards, clouding each festival with pain from the start – she has literally changed my life!”— Jenny D.

Amateur Cyclist
“Last year I experienced a serious cycling accident, but only 3 months later I completed the hardest amateur cycling race in the world. I couldn’t have achieved this without Jane’s considerable help. She is a committed clinician, who takes pride in her work, and is always interested in each individual patient. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her services.”
Olly Woodburn
Professional Rugby Player (Exeter Chiefs Aviva Premiership Champions 2016/17)
“Jane rehabilitated me when I suffered an Achilles rupture playing rugby for Bath in 2013. With her help I was back up and running in 6 months. Jane not only helped me recover on the physical side with targeted treatment and a tailored exercise programme, but also psychologically with things like visualising the healing process. I feel this helped immensely on my road to recovery.”
Dr Julian Widdowson
Consultant Specialist in Sports and Exercise Medicine
“I have worked with Jane for over 5 years in the elite athlete environment. She is a talented and experienced professional who is clearly passionate about her work. Not only is she a highly skilled practitioner, she excels in building positive relationships with clients, which undoubtedly enhances their treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.”

“I came to Jane thinking that I only needed a quick fix for my latest injury. She showed me that everything that had been going wrong with my body was all linked and that we needed to find the root cause rather than just managing the symptoms. Through the sessions with her, I came to understand my body’s reactions to the stresses and strains of life and how they can manifest as yet another injury. Together, we dealt with the problems through her physical version of therapy and I always felt very comfortable working with her. She opened my eyes to the relationship between mind and body which I am so thankful for.”
