Be Activated
Promoting Greater Efficiency of Movement
Be Activated
The ‘Be Activated’ system developed by Physiotherapist Doug Heel offers a powerful new perspective on why the body becomes dysfunctional. The system combines Physiotherapy knowledge with principles from Osteopathic medicine and Kinesiology.
It involves specific tests and treatment techniques to both identify the musculoskeletal patterns currently used by the body and correct any compensations that might be occurring.
Be Activated looks at the body as a whole and considers how it works as an entire system rather than distinct parts. It promotes greater structural integrity and efficiency so that the right structure is doing the right job at the right time.
It can be used to improve sporting performance, aid rehabilitation, increase resilience and as a tool for stress management. It has also recently been linked anecdotally with improving the symptoms of Long Covid.
What Clients Say
Last year I experienced a serious cycling accident, but only 3 months later I completed the hardest amateur cycling race in the world. I couldn’t have achieved this without Jane’s considerable help. She is a committed clinician, who takes pride in her work, and is always interested in each individual patient. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her services.
I worked with Jane for over 2 years [at Bath rugby] during which time she helped me immensely with various injuries and maintenance treatments. Not only is she a talented and professional physiotherapist, it was obvious that she really cared about us as individuals and how we could achieve our potential. This made a real difference to me and I know Jane’s unique approach will bring her a lot of success.
Jane’s advice and expertise is superb. She always creates the time to explain what’s going on and match any treatment to specific needs. I am currently recovering from an ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair and Jane has been a huge source of reassurance and motivation to keep going with my rehab and as a result, I have made excellent progress.
